With 36 years of experience in industrial hygiene, across both the petrochemical industry and consulting, and credentials including 31 years as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and 20 years as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), I bring a practical understanding of what drives effective health and safety performance. My career has been shaped by recognizing what works, what doesn’t, and why.
I hold dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Environmental Health, with a minor in Chemistry, from Illinois State University, providing a strong scientific foundation for my technical approach.
As the leader of HSE Solutions, Inc., I oversee industrial hygiene, safety, and environmental services for clients. My background includes extensive work in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Specialty Chemical, Heavy Manufacturing, Aviation, and Construction Services.
My expertise spans IH risk assessment, data evaluation, exposure & hazard controls, turnaround management, indoor air quality, HSE program development, training, and auditing.
What I enjoy most is developing the next generation of industrial hygienists, helping professionals grow, gain confidence, and build meaningful careers that protect people and that they can be proud of.

I am a United States Army veteran, a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and Certified Safety Professional (CSP) with over 15 years of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) consulting and program implementation. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from Illinois State University and previously served as an instructor for the university’s Industrial Hygiene course.
I have extensive expertise in OSHA regulatory compliance, including direct experience supporting organizations during OSHA inspections, complaint investigations, and post-incident reviews. My professional background spans multiple industries, including advanced manufacturing and automotive operations.
My technical competencies include industrial hygiene exposure assessments; chemical, physical, and biological hazard control; respiratory protection; noise exposure evaluation; and emergency response planning. I specialize in translating regulatory requirements into practical, defensible EHS programs.
